Kumiki puzzles

My collection, shown here, include the traditional Japanese Kumiki wooden puzzles (sometimes called Japanese Wooden interlocking puzzles or JWIP) , but also other puzzles derived from these, and some earlier one of similar construction from Germany. This is still a work in progress, with more photographs and details to come. I also plan to scan all the solution sheets I have and link them to the puzzles.

I have also shown plastic and modern puzzles which have the same mechanisms as the Japanese versions, and will try and identify these wherever possible. Please let me know if you spot any inconsistencies and/or errors.

You can find some more information on these puzzles in a document produced by Jerry Slocum and Rik van Grol - "Early Japanese Export Puzzles"

I will (at some point) be adding duplicates for swap or sale, but I will also have a wish list of puzzles I would like to acquire.

If you have any of these puzzles and would like to get in touch then please use the contacts page, I am very happy to discuss the puzzles, especially ones I do not have yet.
